Riverbend High recognized for teaching program
Riverbend Principal Troy Wright and Annmarie Mulholland, the school’s coordinator of English, just accepted an award for the high school.

Riverbend High School received the 2011 Professional Learning Team Award at the recent Learning Forward Virginia Annual Conference in Charlottesville on November 4, 2011. This award recognizes a team of educators who developed a collaborative school culture that increases student learning. Members of Riverbend High School’s staff have embraced the national professional learning standards and through professional communities of practice are working very hard to develop teacher-led, embedded professional learning through their culture. The school formed a Professional Learning CLAW (Collaborative Leaders at Work) to facilitate a culture of reflective practice and professional growth focused student achievement. Learning Forward is a state-wide organization and Riverbend High School was selected from nominations from all over the state
