Spotsy High recognized for Relay for Life work
UPDATE 2: This recognition is scheduled for this Monday’s School Board meeting.
UPDATE: I’ve just been told this recognition has been delayed until next month. However, the congratulations still stand.
The Spotsylvania School Board tonight is to recognize Spotsylvania High School for its success with the Relay for Life program.
The school was recognized by the American Cancer Society for increasing its fundraising by 91 percent over the previous year.
Specifically, it is being honored for having the largest fund-raising increase in the South Atlantic Region for the 2010-2011 school year.
Principal Rusty Davis is to receive a plaque for the school in thanks for the efforts of the school system and Spotsylvania High, in particular, for hosting the event each year.
