SEA raises more than $5,000 for Louisa educators
The Spotsylvania Education Association raised $5,621.05 during its “Jeans for Louisa Day” last Wednesday, President Peter Pfotenhauer just announced during the School Board meeting.
The money goes to the Louisa Education Foundation to assist with earthquake relief. School staff donated at least $3 per person for the privilege of wearing jeans that day.
The Aug. 23 earthquake had its epicenter in Louisa County, in the community of Cuckoo.
Post Oak Middle School staff raised the most money of any building in the school division, totaling donations of $369.
