‘Live strong’ by exercising this Sunday
Spotsylvania Regional Medical Center is hosting the first Spotsylvania Livestrong Day this Sunday to raise cancer awareness.
The event encourages people to wear yellow, so don’t be confused if you see people near Cosner’s Corner and throughout the county in that color on Sunday. It is NOT another banana man event. (However, I understand bananas are endorsed as part of a healthy diet and likely condoned by Livestrong, the non-profit created by cancer survivor Lance Armstrong.)
Sunday’s event starts at 7 a.m. and offers participants the option of a 1-mile walk, 7-K run/walk,or a 25-mile or 50-mile bike trip.
Register by the end of the day Wednesday for $40 (including a T-shirt) at www.spotsylivestrongday.org. On-site registration is an option at 6 a.m. Sunday but it will cost an additional $10 that day.
The event will also include a health fair.
