Germanna looking for volunteers
Germanna Community College is looking for volunteers to assist students on the Spotsylvania campus next Tuesday when they return to classes.
Students will be moving to new locations for their classes since the Dickinson building has been closed for repairs following the Aug. 23 earthquake that left it with structural damage.
Below are the details I received from Germanna.
Training for volunteers is on Friday from noon to 2 p.m. in Room 105 of the Workforce and Community Education Building, also known as FAC2. Volunteers will receive information from Student Services, Instructional Services, Security and Academic Support during the session. Lunch will be provided.
Volunteers will be needed during the following times:
■Tuesday, September 6 between the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. ■Wednesday, September 7 between the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. ■Thursday, September 8 between the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. ■Friday, September 9 between the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. ■Saturday, September 10 between the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
People don’t need to volunteer all day but are asked to indicate what time they would be available.
Please email Pam Shifflett (email@example.com) by noon Thursday if you are willing to volunteer, the times you are available, and to sign up for the training.
