Wilder just offered thanks to Hill
Spotsylvania School Board member Marty Wilder just gave a 10-minute summation of accomplishments during Superintendent Jerry Hill’s career in the county.
This is Dr. Hill’s last board meeting after a 10 ½ year tenure. He hits the road for New Mexico tomorrow night, to begin his retirement.
Incoming Superintendent Shelley K. Redinger arrived this afternoon and is sitting in the audience during the meeting.
Before commending Dr. Hill, Wilder first spent five minutes criticizing the Free Lance-Star’s coverage of Dr. Hill and the school division, specifically criticizing a recent story about Dr. Hill’s behind-the-scenes involvement in and interest in getting a strong school board seated in the future.
In his summary of Dr. Hill’s tenure, Wilder highlighted probably more than a dozen of the accomplishments that are included in the 49-page booklet created by the school’s public information office and now available online at spotsyschools.us.
