Germanna moves pinning ceremony
Germanna Community College has moved the nurse pinning ceremony to the Fredericksburg Expo and Conference Center to allow nurse graduates to invite an unlimited number of guests, the college’s spokesman tells me.
Nursing students had expressed concern about the limited attendance opportunities when the May 11 event was planned for the Daniel Technology Center in Culpeper.
Students said they would only have been allowed three guests if the ceremony was held there.
College spokesman Mike Zitz said the move was made after administrators learned there was more demand for seating than originally expected.
The Daniel center had seating for about 400 whereas the Expo Center can accommodate 2,500, Zitz said.
