Germanna is offering new loan option
Germanna Community College will hold two information sessions on a new financial aid option available for the spring semester, the college just announced.
Federal Direct Stafford Loans are offered through the Department of Education and are being offered as an alternative to private borrowing.
These direct loans are designed to help people offset the rising cost of college tuition. Germanna offers several types of financial aid including grants, scholarships, work study programs, and private student loans. Stafford loans have lower interest rates, longer repayment terms, deferment and forbearance options as well as early loan forgiveness for graduates working in public service.
Information sessions will be held on Thursday, Nov. 4 at the Locust Grove Campus, 10-11 a.m. and 5:30-6:30 p.m., and on Monday, Nov. 8 at the Fredericksburg Area Campus, Room 212, 10-11 a.m. or 5:30-6:30 p.m.
