GCC Social Sciences Research Symposium survey — is texting a member of the opposite sex cheating?
When you’re in a relationship, what constitutes cheating?
A survey of students at Orange High School and Germanna found that 7.5 percent considered the simple act of text messaging or communicating with a member of the opposite sex via Facebook or MySpace is cheating.
Thirty-two percent said a quick peck on the lips, cheek, forehead, etc. is cheating.
The survey was done by Germanna students for the college’s 1st Annual Social Sciences Research Symposium.
Bryant Lyttle, a member of the team of GCC students that did the study, said the Orange High students thought texting was cheating, but a quick kiss wasn’t.
