Farmers market may come to Stafford Hospital this summer
A Sunday farmers market will open up in Stafford County this summer, pending a few last approvals.
Vanessa Griffin is heading up the effort, and expects the final announcement to come at the end of March, which is when she’ll begin the application process with interested vendors.
The market would tentatively open the weekend of June 2 at the Stafford Hospital Medical Pavilion. Hours will be 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Last summer, the county set new zoning guidelines that were supposed to make forming a farmers market easier.
Griffin also went before the Economic Development Authority earlier this month to ask for help with start-up costs. The panel requested more information before granting the money.
