Family Table returns next month

If you’re running out of activities on your summer to-do list, mark your calendars for Aug. 4 – 12, when Fredericksburg’s “Family Table” restaurant week will return.

The city debuted this event last year. It kicks of Saturday, Aug. 4, with an expanded farmers market in Hurkamp Park. The entire week, 16 restaurants in and around downtown will run specials in the early evening hours aimed at getting families with kids to try eating out downtown.

There will be special place mats for kids to color and restaurants will offer special kid’s meals nightly from 5 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. and a ‘two for twenty’ adult menu where diners can select two courses for only $20.

Look for more on this event, and the farmers market that starts it all off, next week on this blog and in our Weekender section.

For now, though, here is a list of participating restaurants to help you plan:

  • 909 Saloon
  • The Bavarian Chef
  • Bistro Bethem
  • Capital Ale House
  • Eileen’s Bakery & Café
  • Foode
  • The Gazebo at Fredericksburg Square

  • Home Team Grill
  • J. Brian’s Tap Room
  • Jake and Mike’s
