Markets open this weekend in Culpeper, King George and Eastern Orange

Saturday markets in downtown Culpeper and King George County and a Sunday market in eastern Orange county will open for the season this weekend. Last weekend, markets in Fredericksburg and Spotsylvania started up, and the Bowling Green market has been going since March. Check back next week for more openings. In the meantime, here are a few details about this week’s market openings:
Eastern Orange County Farmers Market -
This market runs Sundays from roughly 10:30 a.m. until 3 p.m. at the Locust Grove Town Center, at the intersection of State Routes 20 and 611. Market rules state that all goods must be grown or produced within 100 miles of Orange County, in Virginia.
Culpeper Downtown Farmers Market -
Managed by Culpeper’s Downtown Renaissance group, this market is open Saturdays from 7:30 a.m. until noon at the East Davis Street and Commerce Street parking lot in downtown Culpeper. Goods must be home-grown or hand-made within a 75-mile radius of Culpeper. This market also often includes live music and local arts and crafts.
King George Farmers Market -
Takes place Saturdays, from 8 a.m. until noon at King George Elementary School, at the intersection of state routes 3 and 205. All goods must be grown or produced within King George or Westmoreland counties. This year, the market is planning to include a “kids’ space” each week, and community days with special activities occur on every first Saturday, June through October.
