Local food producers gathered in Richmond last week for the Virginia Food & Beverage Expo. The number or vendors and buyers at the expo is on the rise, with many small specialty gourmet shops interested in Virginia-made and Virginia-grown products. Read about it here.

Luigi Castiglia is continuing the makeover of his popular self-named Italian restaurant at 324 William St. in downtown Fredericksburg. A 20-seat bar is being added in the space at Castiglia’s that used to be a market called Bella Italia. Learn more here.

After sitting vacant for three years, Port Royal Tavern has a new name and a menu that will feature local foods. Read more here.

Jersey Mike’s Subs is opening a location in the Stafford Marketplace shopping center off Garrisonville Road in North Stafford. More here.

Five Guys Burgers and Fries will open April 16 in front of the Walmart in King George Gateway shopping Center off U.S. 301 near Dahlgren.
