Bowling Green farmers market opens Saturday
Most area farmers markets won’t open until mid- to late April (although you will probably find a few vendors at Hurkamp Park in Fredericksburg this weekend, and Spotsylvania ran the last of its three winter markets last Saturday).
The first regional market to open in earnest is Bowling Green, which will kick off with its early spring market on Saturday.
Vendors will gather from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. on the front lawn of Union First Market Bank, on Main Street in downtown Bowling Green. All goods at this market must be grown or produced within a 75-mile radius of Bowling Green.
The market will be open every Saturday through Oct. 27. A grand opening festival will be held at the April 21 market.
We’re busy updating our annual listing of area farmers markets. If you know of a multi-vendor farmers market that wasn’t on this list from last year and will be operating this year, e-mail Emily Freehling.
