Winter farmers markets in Spotsylvania start this weekend
If you’ve got a case of the winter blues, bundle up on Saturday and head over to the Gordon Road commuter lot in Spotsylvania County. The county will hold monthly farmers markets during the winter season from 9 a.m. until noon.
The winter market dates are Jan.14, Feb. 11 and March 10 (the second Saturdays of each month). The winter market will be smaller, including fewer than 10 vendors. Manager Elizabeth Borst said shoppers can expect to find meat, eggs, butter, cheese, baked goods, and more. Seafood vendors Gloria and James Headley will also be on-hand, selling oysters, crabcakes and crab chili.
The regular season for the market will start back up April 21, and run through Dec. 15.
