Food news: New breakfast option coming to downtown

If you’ve enjoyed cooking your way through a box of fresh local produce all summer as a member of a CSA (community-supported agriculture) membership with a local farm, now is the time to start thinking about joining a fall CSA. The Fredericksburg farmers market has information on a couple of local fall CSAs here.

Asia Bistro and Sunset Thai, two Central Park restaurants, have both closed, Bill Freehling reports here. Also, the Denny’s restaurant in front of Spotsylvania Towne Centre will close its doors for good at 6 a.m. Saturday.

Barefoot’s Seafood on Sophia Street in downtown Fredericksburg is adding breakfast to the menu. The restaurant will begin serving breakfast Sept. 1. Breakfast will run Tuesday through Sunday, 7 a.m. to 2 p.m.

There’s been so much media focus on the Louisa County town of Mineral after Tuesday’s earthquake. One more thing to know about Mineral: They have a great farmer’s market. Check it out Saturday morning.
