Chef’s demonstration Saturday at the Spotsylvania Farmers Market–grilled pizza
If you’re planning a farmer’s market outing for tomorrow, you might want to check out the Spotsylvania County market at the Gordon Road commuter lot, where Wegmans chef Keith Click will be demonstrating and sampling grilled flatbread pizza, a great vehicle for many of summer’s best vegetables.
Demonstrations will happen at 9 a.m., 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. Visit the market manager stand for details.
Click currently works at Wegmans, and has been giving cooking demonstrations at Miller Farms. Here are a few other notes on his bio, as reported on the Spotsylvania market’s website:
Keith was raised in Northern Virginia in a large, close family. His love of food started in his mother’s kitchen and around their table. He has greatly expanded on the simple southern style he grew up on. He is a self-taught chef driven by a passion for being open-minded and self-improving. He began his career in small, chef-owned restaurants and thrived in the fast-pace of busy kitchens. You can see his passion for food during demonstrations, lessons or in his work at a gourmet grocery store. He is driven by his competitive nature and enjoys putting on a show. In his free time you might find Keith having a friendly competition with his cook friends or making a date-night dinner for his wife. He likes the challenge of finding fresh, local produce at the farmers market and turning it into an unexpected meal. Cooking is what Keith loves to do most because he enjoys feeding others.
