Giant farmers market coming to Meadow Event Park Sunday
Our area will host a celebration of food and wine from around Virginia this weekend. If you’re looking for a food-focused activity (with air conditioning, to boot), head to the Farm Bureau’s Virginia Food & Wine Festival on Sunday from noon until 5 p.m. The festival will take place at the Farm Bureau Center at the Meadow Event Park–home of the State Fair–in Doswell.
This is the same festival that was called the Save our Food Summer Festival last year, and drew 5,000 people.
Entry is $10 per carload (but you can get a $5 discount if you show this flyer at the gate, or if you are a Virginia Farm Bureau member).
Hundreds of Virginia-made food and wine products will be available for sampling, and some of the state’s best barbecue teams will compete against each other. You’ll be able to stock your pantry at a huge indoor farmers market featuring wares from around the state. The day will also feature a number of kid- and family-focused activities, as well as live music.
