Wednesday market coming to Dahlgren
The King George Farmers market will begin a pilot market next week in the Dahlgren area.
The market will run Wednesdays starting July 13, from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m. at Potomac Elementary School. This market will run for at least six weeks as the county’s market organization judges whether there’s enough interest to keep it going.
Market Manager DeLaura Padovan put out feelers last month to see how much interest there was for a Wednesday afternoon market, and said she got more than 100 e-mails, along with calls to her home and remarks from visitors to King George’s growing Saturday morning market.
The Dahlgren market is just one piece of news out of King George’s July newsletter, which you can find here. As you can read, the market is also offering a series of canning and preserving classes, as well as expanded community days.
