Erase library fines next week
We’ve all done it. A board book with cute pictures of baby animals becomes such a favorite that we can’t bear to take it back to the library after two weeks. A slim borrowed volume creeps between the couch cushions and we just forget about it, as its due date whizzes by.
Whatever your excuse for having overdue library books, you’re about to get an opportunity to redeem yourself.
The Central Rappahannock Regional Library is running “Food for Fines” week Oct. 16 – 22.
For every can of food you bring in, $1 will be erased from your fine backlog. Collected food will be given to food banks near the library’s branches in Fredericksburg, Spotsylvania, Stafford and Westmoreland counties.
You can find more details here on the library’s website.
