With fall youth sports in full swing, you’ll want to clip and save this guide to common youth sports injuries, published in Sunday’s Healthy Living section.

If anyone in your family is involved with Friday night high school football, you should check out the new feature on Adam Himmelsbach’s Gridiron blog. In his first installment of the video series “Under the Lights,” Himmelsbach introduces us to Gabriel Pierson, a junior at James Monroe High School who wears the Yellow Jacket costume. The Central Rappahannock Regional Library has a new collection of e-books available for a number of devices. Learn about the new program they are using here.

The library is also participating in a worldwide effort to “Read for the Record.” Stop by a library branch or librarypoint.org on Oct. 6 to participate by reading the children’s book, “Llama Llama Red Pajama.” Learn more here.

Schools across the Fredericksburg region earned full state accreditation this year with two exceptions. Westmoreland County’s Washington and Lee High School received provisional accreditation because it failed to meet the graduation standard instituted this year. More from reporter Pamela Gould here.
