[Update: Please note that the date for the Hurkamp Park event is Wednesday, Aug. 17.]

Finding live music events that appeal to both adults and kids can be a challenge.

One option that might fit the bill: the Fredericksburg Community Concert Band’s production of a variety of movie tunes at two upcoming performances.

The show will include everything from “Pixar Movie Magic,” to Disney songs to music from popular cartoons to classic TV songs from the 70s. The band will pass out paper and pencils and encourage the audience to name that tune. You could bring a blanket, snacks and set up a mini-competition within your family.

The free performances are 7 p.m. this Sunday Wednesday, Aug. 17 at Hurkamp Park in downtown Fredericksburg, and 7 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 20 at the pavilion at Spotsylvania Courthouse Village, 9010 Old Battlefield Blvd.
