Get out: Caroline County Agricultural Fair starts this evening

A petting zoo, racing pigs, face-painting, corn mazes, history lessons, hay rides…there are plenty of ways for your kids to burn off summer energy at this year’s Caroline County Agricultural Fair, and admission is free for kids 10 and younger. It’s $5 for everyone 11 and older, and as of today, wristbands for unlimited rides on the midway cost $20.

But there’s a lot more to the fair than just rides. Get the kids out of the house to see barnyard animals, check out tonight’s “Caroline Idol” singing competition, starting at 7:30 p.m., or be entertained by a watermelon or hot-dog eating contest. A detailed schedule of events can be found here.

Caroline County reporter Portsia Smith has more details here, and you can find the fair’s website here.

The fair is located at 8332 County Fair Lane, off U.S. 1, between Carmel Church and Ladysmith. It runs today through Saturday. Gates open at 5 p.m. today.
