Holiday Helping: A Gift of Hope for homeless moms

HOLIDAY HELPING: See more opportunities to help out for the holidays.

Here’s a holiday project that’s going on through New Year’s. And the impact of this project will last for years to come.

Hope House, a homeless agency for moms and children, is running a Gift of Hope campaign, hoping to get 2,000 people to donate $20. That money will go into a fund that will help clients get into permanent housing. The agency is trying to rapidly rehouse the families who are ready for a home while still maintaining the shelter for families that need a little bit more support. To balance both needs, Hope House officials decided to create a fund specifically for permanent housing.

You can learn more here or on Facebook, where Hope House is posting photos of donors holding up a $20 bill to show how easy it is to donate. One posting reminds potential donors that giving $20 is as simple as sacrificing a lunch out or that coffee they grab on the way to work for a few days.
