Holiday Helping: SECA

HOLIDAY HELPING: See more opportunities to help out for the holidays.

Spotsylvania Emergency Concerns Association hopes to help about 135 families this Christmas, with holiday baskets that include a festive meal and a few toys. But the toy drive that the agency usually relies on isn’t happening this year–and with more people than ever coming for SECA’s help with food, rent and heating assistance, the nonprofit needs help for the holidays.

To make Christmas merry for these Spotsylvania County families, you can help SECA by donating toys, food or money. You can drop off donations to SECA on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. SECA’s thrift store and offices are behind the Marshall Center off Courthouse Road. The address is 8812 Courthouse Rd.

You can mail checks to SECA, Box 923 Spotsylvania, Va. 22553.

You can also donate used clothes and household items to SECA’s thrift shop–proceeds from the shop fund the agency’s food pantry and financial assistance.
