Food drive to help families in need

Quin Rivers, a nonprofit that works to prevent homelessness, is collecting food for local families in need. The agency hopes to help about 30 Fredericksburg-area families with some food for the holidays.

To help these families, Quin Rivers needs donated food, especially:

  • Canned meats, vegetables, fruit and gravy
  • Rice
  • Pasta
  • Stuffing mix
  • Cornmeal
  • Flour
  • Broth
  • Evaporated milk
  • Sweet potatoes
  • Potatoes
  • Cake mix
  • Pudding mix
  • Foil roasting pans
  • Cranberry sauce

The agency is also collecting gift cards to grocery stores.

Drop off donations at 10718 Ballantraye Drive # 402, Fredericksburg VA 22407 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. For details, call 540/479-4365.

Donations will be accepted through Nov. 21.
