Grief camp accepting now applications
Hospice Support Care’s Camp Rainbow, a weekend grief day camp for children, will be held Oct. 5 and 6 at the Virginia Outdoor Center/Friends of the Rappahannock.
Children ages 6 to 12 who have experienced the loss of a loved one are urged to apply for this free camp.
Applications must be received no later than Friday. Space is limited and campers are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.
At the camp, children are paired with trained adult Big Buddies to explore their feelings through age-appropriate crafts, activities, discussions and one-on-one time.
Activities include kayaking and tubing, group sharing, obstacle courses, arts and crafts, hiking, journaling, remembrance activities, music and dance therapy, singing and drumming by the campfire.
