Day to Serve to feature race, service projects
The Fredericksburg Stake of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, will host the fifth annual “Run for Food 5K” on Saturday.
The event is an interfaith effort to provide food for the hungry and services to the community.
The race will start at 8 a.m. in Old Mill Park in the city.
Events following the run will include blood drives, planting trees, making scarves for the homeless, and assisting families of cancer patients.
Citizens can add their own service projects online and through Nicole Hebertson at firstname.lastname@example.org.
People can register to run under the “Day to Serve Events.” Runners who register online are encouraged to donate food they have collected for the hungry as their entry fee.
