Valentine’s Day event to focus on violence against women
Empowerhouse and the University of Mary Washington’s James Farmer Multicultural Center will host an awareness event on Valentine’s Day. The One Billion Rising event will be part of a worldwide effort to bring attention to violence against women.
The event begins at 5 p.m. with some Zumba. The evening will include dancing, singing and poetry–and a women sharing her story. Attendees are asked to stop by the Great Hall at UMW anytime between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m.
