Poinsettia sale to help adults with disabilities
Rappahannock Adult Activities’ annual poinsettia sale has begun.
Proceeds from the sale help adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities stay in day programs, which provide activities and training.
RAAI is a program of Rappahannock Area Community Services Board and is a member agency of the Rappahannock United Way.
Six-inch poinsettias are available in red, white, pink and a pink-white combination for $10 each. Four-inch red poinsettias are also available for $5 each. Handmade bows are available in red, white, and pink at $0.75 each. Orders are filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
Horticulture Specialist Melessa Suder said:
“Purchasing poinsettias from Rappahannock Adult Activities helps to supports adults with an intellectual disability. These individuals take great pride in their work and look forward to the opportunity be more involved in the community as they deliver the beautiful poinsettias.”
Participants in RAAI’s day support program can make arrangements for delivery of orders of five or more poinsettias. Orders of less than five poinsettias are available for pick-up between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. at 750 Kings Highway, Fredericksburg.
