Fashion show to help homeless families
Tickets are now available for WINGS’ annual Girls Night Out, October 18, 2011, at 6:30 p.m., at the Fredericksburg Country Club.
In keeping with this year’s theme, “Cosmos and Couture,” the benefit event will feature a trunk show of ladies’ fashions from the Worth Collection, LTD, a New York based company that sells its clothing line through home-based representatives. Presenting the program will be Betsy Worthington, Richmond regional manager for Worth. An assortment of accessories, jackets, and other items at various price levels will be available for purchase.
The evening will also include a cash bar featuring Cosmos, as well as dinner, door prizes donated by Worth, and the popular annual raffle, which will be highlighted by a unique array of specialty items.
All proceeds from Girls Night Out will be donated to the Thurman Brisben Center, a full service program addressing the causes and issues surrounding homelessness in our community. The Center provides financial assistance to avoid eviction and/or utility shut off to those in crises. It also provides the safety of a residential setting for those who have become homeless. The Center’s goal is to equip its clients to maintain or return to productive, independent lives.
Cost for Girls Night Out is $50 per person. Tables for eight may be reserved. Doors open at 6:15 p.m. For reservations, please send checks by October 12 to WINGS, P.O. Box 3084, Fredericksburg, VA 22402. For further information, call 540/898-6487.
