Volunteers needed to clothe more than 1,000 children
The back-to-school commercials are on TV; backpacks and school supplies line the aisles of area stores. In the Fredericksburg area, that always means one thing: School Dressing Days are coming.
The event is this weekend. The annual effort led by the Fredericksburg area’s Interfaith Community Council provides back-to-school clothes, backpacks, school supplies and toiletries to children in need. All items are purchased through donations and annual dues fromparticipating churches, and the event is run by volunteers. Volunteers are needed.
This year, clothingwill be distributed at the Bragg Hill Family Life Center on:
- Saturday, Aug. 13 from 9am to 4pm
- Monday, Aug. 15 from 9am to 2pm
- Tuesday, Aug. 16 from 9am to 12pm
Set-up dayswill take place at the BraggHill FamilyLife Center:
- Thursday, Aug. 11 at 7:30pm
- Friday, Aug. 12 at 7:30am
Sorting days will take place at the BraggHill Family Life Center this week, 9 a.m. to noon.
