Pack the Pod
Rappahannock United Way is collecting much-needed items for local people in need. The agency is focusing its collection efforts on its three areas of concern: education, income and health. The drive is called Pack the Pod, and items can be dropped off at a storage pod in front of the United Way offices starting Aug. 24.
Items requested are:
Education
- Calculators
- New clothes or gift cards to buy clothes
- Pens and pencils
- New shoes or gift cards to buy shoes
- Paper
- Rulers
Income
- Gift cards for hair cuts
- FRED bus tickets
- Razors
- Deodorant
- Phone cards
- Underwear
- New business clothes
- Gas cards
Health
- Over the counter medicine
- Toilet paper
- Diaper rash cream
- Vitamins
- Adhesive bandage
All donated items must be new and in their packaging.The Pack the Pod drive will kick off at Rappahannock United Way’s Campaign Kickoff Breakfast on Aug. 23. and will continue
through Day of Caring on Sept. 16.
On the Day of Caring, the collected items will be given to area agencies helping people who are homeless, poor or disabled.
Beginning August 24th, the Pod will be at Rappahannock United Way offices.
