Holiday Help in Stafford

Stafford County Department of Social Services will change its holiday assistance program this year.

Stafford residents who need help for Thanksgiving and/or Christmas will now need to register at the former rescue squad building, across the parking lot from the social services office.

If your last name starts with A through M, register from 9-11:30 a.m. during the week. If your last name starts with N through Z, register from 12:30 p.m. to 3 p.m.

SNAP and TANF clients in good standing are eligible for the holiday program. Registrants must bring a photo ID. Their benefits must be current and active.

Elderly clients may have a representative complete the application. These representatives must have a photo ID for them and for the client and a note giving permission for the representative to fill out the application.

The holiday program relies on community donations, and is not guaranteed.
