Foster Parents Needed

Children’s Home Society of Virginia is seeking foster parents to care for infants and toddlers on a temporary basis. A foster care home study, training and support are provided. Foster parents also receive a monthly stipend and clothing allowance to meet each child’s needs.

Foster parents must live in a smoke-free environment and be able to take care of a child of any age from infancy to preschool. One parent must be home to provide for the child’s daily needs.

Foster care is a temporary arrangement where a child is cared for in a nurturing family while permanent plans are made. Infants and children are cared for in foster homes while birth parents make decisions regarding their children’s futures, as well as their own. Foster care may also be used while legal steps are completed to release a child for adoption.

To find out more about becoming a foster parent, please call Tamra McCoy at 540/226-0583 or 800/247-2888. Or out CHSV online.
