Sharing Homes
A new program hopes to prevent homelessness. Rappahannock Legal Services will launch the HomeShare program which matches people needing homes with those who have room to spare.
A few months ago, I met with RLS director Bill Botts, who told me the program could benefit a person who has an extra room or a basement apartment and who needs help around the house, with childcare or with taking care of an elderly relative.
Informational sessions are now starting:
*Saturday, March 6, 6 p.m. at St. Mary of the Annunciation Catholic Church in Ladysmith
*Sunday, March 7, 3 p.m. at St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Fredericksburg
*Tuesday, March 9, 7:30 p.m. at Thurman Brisben Center in Fredericksburg
*Wednesday, March 10, noon at the Central Rappahannock Regional Library headquarters in Fredericksburg
