Advent, Dec. 7, 8 and 9
Running late on the Advent stuff; sorry! Here are ideas for yesterday (in case you want to catch up), today and tomorrow:
Staying In: Make paper snowflakes. Start with a square piece of paper. Fold in half to make a triangle. Fold the triangle in half. Then in thirds. Cut the bottom rectangle off. Then cut small circle and square shapes into the folded triangle. Unfold.
Out and About: Virginia’s Holiday Lightfest, Patriot Park, 5710 Smith Station Road. Dazzling illuminated drive-through holiday experience featuring larger-than-life displays. 6–10 p.m. $8 weekdays, $12 weekends. Benefits American Red Cross. Runs through Jan. 1. 540/840-6504.

Dec. 9 Staying In: Eat dinner in your Santa hats. Every one comes to the table wearing a Santa hat or some other silly holiday garb.
