Daily Crime Report 1/10/2014

Recent police reports and arrests in Fredericksburg:

BURGLARY:

1300 block Stafford Ave, 12/14 – 1/9 3:00 p.m.  A resident reported that he returned from winter break and discovered that an unknown person had pried open a door and stolen his television and two game systems.  The investigation is ongoing. 

COUNTERFEITING:

1400 block Carl D Silver Pkwy, 12/30 8:30 p.m.  A Spotsylvania resident reported that he sold an item via Craigslist and he arranged to meet the buyer in Central Park.  The buyer paid for the item in cash, and the victim later discovered that the $20 bills used for payment were counterfeit.  The investigation is ongoing.

2000 block Plank Rd, 1/9 8:30 p.m. – 9:30 p.m.  A Spotsylvania resident reported that he sold an item via Craigslist and he arranged to meet the buyer in Westwood Shopping Center.  The buyer paid for the item in cash, and the victim later discovered that some of the $100 bills used for payment were counterfeit.  The investigation is ongoing.

LARCENY:

2700 block Cowan Blvd, 1/8 – 1/9 7:20 a.m.  After a man discovered some of his neighbor’s belongings along the wood line bordering their apartment complex, it was discovered that those items had been stolen from the victim’s vehicle.  No suspects or witnesses at this time.

300 block Forest Village, 1/8 8:30 a.m. – 9:20 p.m.  A resident reported that an unknown person stole a package that had been delivered to her door by Federal Express.   No suspects or witnesses at this time.

1200 block Snowden St, 1/8 – 1/9 9:30 a.m.   A Stafford resident reported that an unknown person stole a chainsaw from the back of his truck.  No suspects or witnesses at this time.

Sports Authority, 1191 Central Park Blvd, 1/9 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m.  A patron reported that an unknown person broke a window on her vehicle and stole her purse from the back seat.  No suspects or witnesses at this time.

1000 block Hotchkiss Pl, 1/10 3:00 a.m.  A resident reported that he saw a male subject pulling on door handles and entering vehicles parked in his neighborhood.  The witness also saw the male walk behind a house with something in his hands.  Police located a handbag and other items behind the house indicated by the witness, and those items were found to have been stolen from two different cars on the street.  The suspect was described as a black male about 6’ tall, wearing a blue football-style warm-up jacket over a blue hoodie.  The investigation is ongoing.

VEHICLE TAMPERING:

TGI Fridays, 1160 Carl D Silver Pkwy, 1/9 10:15 p.m.  An employee reported that he witnessed three white males attempting to break in to another employee’s vehicle in the parking lot.  The suspects left the scene in an older green Ford F-150 pickup.  No known suspects at this time.  

VANDALISM:

1000 block Sophia St, 1/7 – 1/9 2:00 p.m.  A business owner reported that an unknown person damaged the windshield of his van, apparently with BB shot.  No suspects or witnesses at this time.

ARRESTS:

Destiny Papillion, 19, of Spotsylvania was arrested for possession of marijuana.

Anthony Giamette, 38, of Fredericksburg was arrested for child abuse.

Mypri Fox, 20, of Spotsylvania was arrested for shoplifting from the ABC store.

Seneca Malone, 25, of Fredericksburg was arrested for domestic assault.

Victoria Torres, 20, of Fredericksburg was arrested for domestic assault.
