Four suspects in custody for November homicide

Update 3 p.m.

The fourth suspect, John Edwin Pegram, was picked up by the U.S. Marshals near Richmond this afternoon and he is being transported to Fredericksburg for an interview with city detectives.

Three suspects are in custody for the homicide that occurred on November 24 in the 1900 block of Howard Avenue.  With the assistance of the U.S. Marshals Service, Lorenzo McKinley Jones, 19, was arrested in Richmond on December 19 and Diontae Washington, 22, turned himself in to Richmond authorities on December 21.  Wesley Carlton Smith, 22, was arrested in Stafford County on December 18.  

A fourth suspect, John Edwin Pegram II, 23, is still at large.  Pegram is known to frequent Richmond, Virginia and surrounding areas. 

All four suspects face charges of first degree murder and robbery for their involvement in the shooting death of Rodney Beanum, Jr.
