Daily Crime Report 5/6/2013

Recent police reports and arrests in Fredericksburg:

ATTEMPTED ROBBERY/ASSAULT:

200 block Keavy Ct, 5/3 10:50 p.m.  A driver for Virginia Cab reported that after dropping off two male subjects at Crestview Apartments, he got into a dispute with them regarding the exchange of money for the fare.  During the argument, one of the subjects pulled out a knife and grabbed the cab driver by the neck while the second suspect punched him repeatedly in the face.  The suspects attempted to get the victim’s wallet but they were unable to do so, and finally both suspects ran from the scene.   Police arrived and found the victim with blood all over his face and clothes; he was transported by ambulance to Mary Washington Hospital for treatment of his head and facial injuries.  The victim was able to provide descriptions of the two suspects and officers quickly located one of them hiding on the landing of one of the apartment buildings.  Christian Torres, 28, of Fredericksburg was arrested and charged with attempted robbery, malicious wounding, and public intoxication.  The second suspect remains at large.  The investigation is ongoing.  

LARCENY:

400 block Cobblestone Dr, 5/3 – 5/4 9:00 a.m.  Three residents reported that an unknown person entered their unlocked vehicles and rummaged through the contents of the glove boxes and storage consoles.  The only thing stolen was a small quantity of loose change from one of the cars.  Later, another resident of Cobblestone reported that the GPS had been stolen from his unsecured vehicle and a resident of nearby Lafayette Station reported that loose change was missing from the center console of her car.  The investigation is ongoing.

1200 block Willow Ln, 3/1 -5/4 5:45 p.m.  A resident reported that an unknown person stole the contents from a safe in his apartment.  The investigation is ongoing.

1600 block Gayle Terrace, 5/2 – 5/5 3:00 p.m.  A resident reported that both of her children’s bicycles were stolen from the garage.  No suspects or witnesses at this time.

VANDALISM:

700 block William St, 5/2 – 5/3 9:00 a.m.  A resident reported that an unknown person damaged a tree in front of the house.  No suspects or witnesses at this time.

200 block McConkey St, 5/3 8:30 a.m. – 5:10 p.m.  A resident reported that an unknown person scratched and damaged a vehicle belonging to her fiancé.  No suspects or witnesses at this time.

1100 block Anderson St, 5/4 – 5/5 3:00 p.m.  A resident reported that an unknown person scratched and damaged his mother’s vehicle while it was parked on the street.  No suspects or witnesses at this time.  

DUI ARRESTS:

Alfredo Mendoza-Mendoza, 36, of Fredericksburg was arrested for DUI and drinking while driving in the 1600 block of Jefferson Davis Highway.

Aaron Macias, 24, of Stafford was arrested for DUI in the 1200 block of Princess Anne Street.

ARRESTS:

Jason Loving, 30, of Spotsylvania was arrested for attempting to obtain goods by false pretenses.

Tiffany Stuczynski, 24, of Stafford was arrested for shoplifting from Wegmans.

Ronald Rees, 70, of Spotsylvania was arrested for assault and battery.

Gena Wood, 44, of Spotsylvania was arrested for drinking in public.

Brittany Rainey, 19, of Fredericksburg was arrested for domestic assault and battery and preventing another person from calling 911.

Kenneth Kidwell, 23, of Fredericksburg was arrested for public intoxication.

Trevor Carney, 20, of no fixed address was arrested for aggressive solicitation.

Kenika Larkins, 21, of Mechanicsville was arrested for providing false identification to law enforcement.

David Ruffner, 37, of no fixed address was arrested for trespassing and public intoxication.
