Recent police reports and arrests in Fredericksburg:

MOTOR VEHICLE CRASH:

Umi Restaurant, 1500 Jefferson Davis Hwy, 4/7 9:30 p.m.  A 55-year-old male from Warrenton crashed his Harley Davidson motorcycle at the front of the restaurant after he failed to negotiate the intersection of Cowan Boulevard and Jefferson Davis Highway.  The driver was traveling from the direction of Central Park on Cowan Boulevard but instead of turning onto Route 1, he went over the curb and into the parking lot at Umi, coming to a stop when he hit the large decorative rocks in front of the restaurant.  The driver was found unconscious on the scene and he was transported by ambulance to Mary Washington Hospital with significant injuries.  He remains in critical condition.

The accident victim was driving in the company of two other males, also on motorcycles, who stopped at the scene after the crash.  One of the males, Steven Bartee, 47, of New Baltimore was arrested for public intoxication and incarcerated at the Rappahannock Regional Jail.  The other male, the adult son of the crash victim, does not face any charges.
