Daily Crime Report 12/18/2012

Recent police reports and arrests in Fredericksburg:


Dunning Mills Inn, 2305 Jefferson Davis Hwy, 12/17 9:00 p.m.  Police responded for reports of a disturbance and found the resident of one of the rooms changing his tire.  The resident explained that a man from another room had slashed the tire and when he confronted him, the unknown man swung at him with a knife.  Officers located the suspect in his room and confiscated three large fixed blade knives as evidence.  Michael Butler, 38, of no fixed address was arrested for destruction of property and attempted malicious wounding.  Butler was incarcerated at the Rappahannock Regional Jail under no bond. 


500 block Hawke St, 12/15 – 12/17 12:30 p.m.  A jogger reported that she found a number of credit cards and a driver’s license near the canal path foot bridge at Prince Edward and Canal Streets.  The investigating officer located the owner and determined that the items had been stolen from a vehicle on Hawke Street.  Two additional credit cards stolen from the vehicle were not recovered.  The investigation is ongoing.   

1400 block Franklin St, 12/17 7:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.  A resident reported that her holiday flag and Christmas wreath were stolen from her front porch.  No suspects or witnesses at this time.

Capital Ale, 917 Caroline St, 12/17 11:00 p.m.  An employee reported that two male subjects left the business without paying their tab.  The investigation is ongoing.


Matthew Morris, 35, of Spotsylvania was arrested for possession of cocaine, possession of schedule I,II narcotics and possession of schedule IV narcotics.

Kimberlie Plapp, 29, of Reston was arrested for felony shoplifting, obtaining money by false pretenses, destruction of property, and possession of burglary tools at Walmart.  

Danny Lindquist, 47, of no fixed address was arrested for violating a protective order.
