Recent police reports and arrests in Fredericksburg:
WEAPON VIOLATION:
2300 block Cowan Blvd, 10/16 10:40 a.m. A resident called police when his 5-year-old son found a bullet hole through the wall of the master bedroom. The investigating officer further discovered that the bullet had lodged into the side of the bedroom dresser. Police determined that the fired round came from the adjacent apartment, so officers cleared that residence and found that its occupant was not at home. The suspect was contacted at work and he returned to Fredericksburg to speak to investigators. The suspect gave consent for officers to search his vehicle and his apartment and a total of four firearms were recovered and seized for evidence and safekeeping.
Alexander Furgason, 25, of Fredericksburg was arrested and charged with reckless handling of a firearm; he was released by the magistrate on a $3500 bond. The investigation also revealed that the shot had been fired at approximately 1:00 a.m. and the offender did not make any attempt to check on his neighbors or report the incident to authorities. An additional charge was obtained against Furgason charging him with unlawful discharge of a firearm into an occupied dwelling, a Class 6 felony. Furgason has been incarcerated at the Rappahannock Regional Jail under a $2500 bond.
LARCENY:
Tire Fix Shop, 2113 Airport Ave, 10/12 – 10/15 2:00 p.m. A mechanic reported that the license plates were stolen from his vehicle. No suspects or witnesses at this time.
Rappahannock Regional Library, 1201 Caroline St, 10/16 10:50 a.m. A patron reported that her purse was stolen while she was inside the library. No suspects or witnesses at this time.
Bob Evans, 2305 Plank Rd, 10/16 3:15 p.m. – 4:15 p.m. A patron reported that an unknown person broke the back window out of her vehicle and stole an iPad that was still in its packaging. No suspects or witnesses at this time.
ARRESTS:
Reggie Foster, 24, of Fredericksburg was arrested for domestic assault and battery.
Christopher Horne, 24, of Colonial Heights was arrested on a warrant from Colonial Heights charging him with grand larceny.
