Daily Crime Report 10/16/2012

Recent police reports and arrests in Fredericksburg:

LARCENY:

400 block Bunker Hill St, 10/14 – 10/15 5:30 a.m.  A resident reported that an unknown person rummaged through her unlocked vehicle and stole a quantity of loose change from the center console.  No suspects or witnesses at this time.

1500 block Charles St, 10/14 – 10/15 7:20 a.m.  A resident reported that an unknown person rummaged through her unlocked vehicle and stole an iPod Touch.  No suspects or witnesses at this time.  

1300 block Carl D Silver Pkwy, 10/12 – 10/15 9:00 a.m.  A contractor reported that building supplies were stolen from a job site.  No suspects or witnesses at this time.

Walmart, 1800 Carl D Silver Pkwy, 10/15 12:50 a.m.  An employee reported that a donation container for the Children’s Miracle Network was stolen from the store.  The container and some loose change were found behind a business in Spotsylvania County.  The investigation is ongoing.  

du Jardin, 822 Caroline St, 10/15 1:20 p.m.  The owner reported that her wallet was stolen from her purse which she had left inside the business.  Two possible suspects were seen leaving the store at the time of the theft and were described as a tall and thin black male with curly black hair and wearing a black leather jacket and a heavyset black female wearing a brown jacket and brown skirt.  The investigation is ongoing.

FRAUD:

Kohls, 1571 Carl D Silver Pkwy, 10/15 12:30 p.m.  A loss prevention employee reported that a female subject picked up a piece of merchandise in the kitchenware section and proceeded directly to the customer service desk, where she received a full store credit for the item.  The female then immediately left the store.  While investigating the incident, the officer was able to speak to the suspect by phone when she called in to the store to complain that her credit had been voided.  A warrant was obtained for Rebecca Betancourt, 25, of Fredericksburg charging her with fraud/obtaining money by false pretenses.  Betancourt had not been arrested by the time of this report.

ARRESTS:

Jonathan Holshouser, 24, of Spotsylvania was arrested for public intoxication.

Naim White, 24, of no fixed address was arrested for assault and battery.

Andrew Foster, 46, of no fixed address was arrested for public intoxication after being interdicted.
