Daily Crime Report 9/5/2012
Recent police reports and arrests in Fredericksburg:
WEAPONS VIOLATION:
Fredericksburg Christian School, 2221 Jefferson Davis Hwy, 9/4 3:00 pm. Police responded to reports of teenagers in the woods behind the school shooting a BB or pellet gun toward the area where parents were waiting to pick up children. A witness described seeing a black male and black female, both heavyset, in the wooded area near a playground. The male was reportedly wearing a blue and white plaid shirt and carrying what appeared to be a handgun. Police discovered evidence of target shooting and BB pellets in the same area where the suspects were seen. Nobody was reported struck or injured, and the suspects ran from the scene prior to police arrival. During the incident, Fredericksburg Christian School, Walker Grant Middle School, and Lafayette Upper Elementary were all locked down. The investigation is ongoing.
LARCENY:
100 block Wellington Lakes Dr, 9/3 – 9/4 7:30 am. A resident reported that the catalytic converter was stolen from his vehicle overnight. No suspects or witnesses at this time.
400 block Hunter St, 9/3 – 9/4 9:15 am. A resident reported that her wallet and vehicle registration were stolen from her vehicle. No suspects or witnesses at this time.
100 block Courtland Dr, 8/21 – 9/2 5:00 pm. A resident reported that items of jewelry were stolen from her home. No suspects or witnesses at this time.
Bus Station, 1400 Jefferson Davis Hwy, 9/4 3:45 pm – 6:30 pm. A resident reported that she accidentally left a bag containing money on a FRED bus while she rode the bus to Wegmans. An employee found the bag still in the bus but the cash was missing from it. No suspects or witnesses at this time.
VANDALISM:
Kenmore Park, 1301 Kenmore Ave, 8/31 12:00 pm. A Parks and Recreation employee reported that he found graffiti spray painted on the wall of the basketball court. No suspects or witnesses at this time.
200 block Ivanhoe Ct, 9/3 – 9/4 2:00 pm. A resident reported that her vehicle was scratched and damaged by a sharp object. No suspects or witnesses at this time.
ARRESTS:
Xayne MacMurray, 18, of no fixed address was arrested for felony eluding, reckless driving, and driving on a revoked license.
