Recent police reports and arrests in Fredericksburg:
CHILD ABUSE:
100 block Greystone Ct, 8/30 5:40 pm. Police responded to assist the Department of Social Services with a report of possible child abuse after two children, a four-year-old female and a two-year-old female, were taken to the hospital with burns to their hands. The older child was treated for her injuries and released but the younger child required transfer to the VCU Burn Unit. The investigation revealed that the children were burned with hot water while in the care of their mother’s boyfriend. Demarco Singleton, 19, of Fredericksburg was arrested on two counts of felony child abuse/neglect and incarcerated at the Rappahannock Regional Jail under no bond. The investigation is ongoing.
ASSAULT:
7-Eleven, 905 Lafayette Blvd, 9/2 2:25 am. Officers responded to the parking lot for reports of a disturbance involving two females. The first responding officer found a Nissan Altima and a Chevrolet Malibu that both appeared to be damaged and she also found personal belongings strewn from the vehicles onto the ground. With the vehicles were two females who each had torn clothing and apparent injuries. The two females reported that they had gotten into a fist fight on Howison Avenue and then had each gotten into their vehicles to leave the area. Before leaving, the driver of the Nissan side-swiped the Chevrolet and caused damage to both cars. The Nissan then headed to the 7-11 with the Chevrolet following. When they arrived at the 7-11, both drivers got out of their cars and began fighting again. The driver of the Chevrolet reportedly grabbed a vehicle jack and struck the other female in the head with it just before officers arrived on the scene. Christina Lewis-Graves, 21, of Fredericksburg was arrested for malicious wounding and incarcerated at the Rappahannock Regional Jail under no bond. Talaya Turner, 29, of Fredericksburg was arrested for assault and battery and felony hit and run; Turner was incarcerated under a $1000 bond. Neither female required transport to the hospital for medical treatment.
INDECENT EXPOSURE:
3200 block Fall Hill Ave, 8/31 5:00 pm. A resident reported that she was fishing in the river when a male subject walked up to the riverbank near her location, removed his clothes, and waded into the water. The male stayed in the area a few minutes before putting his clothes back on and continuing along the hiking trail. The suspect was described as a tall and slender white male who was bald and carried a small backpack with him. No known suspects at this time.
BURGLARY:
Sonshine Daycare, 2301 Jefferson Davis Hwy, 9/2 – 9/3 3:40 pm. The director reported that she found the back door pried open and damage done to the door jamb. It did not appear that anything was stolen from inside the business. The investigation is ongoing.
LARCENY:
ABC Store, 1416 Carl D Silver Pkwy, 8/31 4:30 pm. A manager reported that a young white male stole a bottle of liquor by concealing it down his pants. The investigation is ongoing.
300 block Maple Ct, 8/31 – 9/1 7:00 am. A resident reported that an unknown person shattered the driver’s side mirror on his vehicle and stole a license plate. A suspect has been identified and the investigation is ongoing.
100 block Princess Anne St, 9/2 8:15 pm. A Spotsylvania resident reported that his iPad was stolen while he was giving a ride to some acquaintances. A suspect has been identified and the investigation is ongoing.
500 block Fauquier St, 9/3 12:00 am – 9:30 am. A resident reported that her bicycle was stolen from beneath her front porch. An officer later found the bicycle abandoned in the 400 block of Charles Street and it was returned to its owner. No suspects or witnesses at this time.
AT&T, 1601 Carl D Silver Pkwy, 9/3 4:25 pm. A manager reported that a male subject stole two cell phones from the display area. The suspect was described as a black male in his 20’s with short curly hair and a goatee. He was wearing a black V-neck shirt, khaki pants, and black shoes. The investigation is ongoing.
DUI ARRESTS:
Matthew Fauntleroy, 29, of Spotsylvania was arrested for DUI in the 400 block of William Street.
Jeffrey Jones, 34, of Spotsylvania was arrested for DUI and refusal to submit to a blood or breath test in the 600 block of Princess Anne Street.
Thomas Gore, 19, of King George was arrested for DUI in the 100 block of Caroline Street.
ARRESTS:
William Cooper, 55, of no fixed address was arrested for aggressive solicitation.
Steven Blair, 41, of no fixed address was arrested for aggressive solicitation.
Deron Sheffield, 20, of Stafford was arrested for underage possession of alcohol.
Trevor O’Toole, 24, of Spotsylvania was arrested for drinking in public, littering, and obstruction of justice.
Anthony Scavongelli, 22, of Ruther Glen was arrested for possession of marijuana.
Blake Ehardt, 19, of Spotsylvania was arrested for underage possession of alcohol.
Florica Nicola, 26, of no fixed address was arrested for aggressive solicitation.
Stacy Spradlin, 34, of Stafford was arrested for shoplifting from Walmart.
Ashley Rice, 23, of Colonial Beach was arrested for felony shoplifting from Kohls.
Avery Phillips, 20, of Fredericksburg was arrested for possession of marijuana.
Aram Rice, 19, of Stafford was arrested for possession of marijuana.
Timothy Brennan, 32, of Fredericksburg was arrested for drinking in public.
Deanne Damron, 56, of Stafford was arrested for shoplifting from Walmart.
Juvenile male, 16, was arrested for shoplifting from Walmart and possession of marijuana.
Robert Porter, 43, of no fixed address was arrested for drinking in public.
Michael Bennett, 18, of Fredericksburg was arrested for underage possession of alcohol.
Ryan Treacy, 19, of Fredericksburg was arrested for underage possession of alcohol.
Torre Swope, 19, of Fredericksburg was arrested for underage possession of alcohol.
Isaiah Lomax, 22, of no fixed address was arrested for disorderly conduct, obstruction of justice, and assault on law enforcement.
Steven Karopchinsky, 31, of Beaverdam was arrested for public intoxication and resisting arrest.
Dalton Chekos, 21, of Fredericksburg was arrested for violating the noise ordinance.
Reba Campbell, 44, of Fredericksburg was arrested for simple assault.
Marcos Lucas-Perez, 29, of Fredericksburg was arrested for public intoxication.
