Daily Crime Report 8/24/2012

Recent police reports and arrests in Fredericksburg:

DUI ARRESTS:

1600 block College Ave, 8/23 3:30 am.  Police responded to reports of a motor vehicle collision and found a yellow Pontiac G-5 crashed into a parked and unoccupied Volkswagon Jetta.  The driver of the Pontiac had fled the scene on foot.  Information pertaining to the owners of both vehicles was determined through DMV registration files, and the offending driver was located a short time later walking in the 2300 block of Cowan Boulevard.  Lainey Leblanc, 20, of Fredericksburg was arrested for DUI, hit and run, and underage possession of alcohol.  Leblanc was incarcerated at the Rappahannock Regional Jail under a $1000 bond.

1400 block Carl D Silver Pkwy, 8/23 1:40 am.  Police responded to reports of a motor vehicle collision and found that a motorcycle had failed to make the turn and crashed through the metal fence surrounding the parking lot of Regal Cinemas.  The motorcycle driver was lying unconscious in the lot with significant injuries and he was transported by ambulance to Mary Washington Hospital.  After receiving the results from the driver’s blood alcohol level test, a warrant was obtained for John Wolfe, 30, of Catlett charging him with DUI.  Wolfe is still hospitalized and the warrant had not been served at the time of this report.      

LARCENY:

1300 block Littlepage St, 8/23 5:00 am – 8:15 am.  A resident reported that his motorcycle was stolen from the street in front of his home.  The motorcycle is described as a 2003 black Yamaha with a Virginia license plate.  The investigation is ongoing.

800 block Wolfe St, 8/23 4:30 am – 9:30 am.  A resident reported that her motor scooter was stolen from the sidewalk in front of her home.  No suspects or witnesses at this time.

VANDALISM:

1400 block Littlepage St, 8/22 10:30 pm – 8/23 9:30 am.  A resident reported that an unknown person broke the glass in the passenger side mirror of his car.  No suspects or witnesses at this time.

2500 block Van Buren St, 8/22 – 8/23 10:55 am.  A resident reported that an unknown person caused significant damage to the windshield, hood, mirrors, and headlights of his vehicle.  The investigation is ongoing.

ARRESTS:

Jose Barahona, 50, of Fredericksburg was arrested for public intoxication.

Juvenile male, 17, was arrested for illegally discharging a BB gun within city limits and illegal hunting.
