Daily Crime Report 7/23/2012

Recent police reports and arrests in Fredericksburg:

ATTEMPTED ROBBERY/ASSAULT:

 400 block Dunmore St, 7/21 2:00 am.  A Spotsylvania resident reported that he was walking toward a friend’s house when he was approached from behind by three male subjects.  Two of the subjects struck the victim on the back while the third subject demanded his wallet.  When the victim refused, all three subjects began punching him until he fell to the ground.  The victim reported that after the assailants left the scene, he called a family member to pick him up and take him to the hospital.  None of his property was stolen during the assault.  The suspects were described as three black males in their late teens or early 20’s.  The investigation is ongoing.

 BURGLARY:

 Red Star Construction, 317 Bridgewater St, 7/18 – 7/19 7:00 am.  The owner reported that an unknown person broke a window and entered his locked garage, then stole a work truck full of tools.  The truck is a white 1998 Dodge Ram pickup with Virginia license plates.  The investigation is ongoing.

 Wash and Fold, 503 Jefferson Davis Hwy, 7/20 – 7/21 7:30 am.  The business owner reported that an unknown person broke in through the back door and stole a quantity of cash from the safe.  The investigation is ongoing.

 400 block Weston Ln, 7/21 11:00 am – 1:20 pm.  A neighbor reported that she observed two suspicious male subjects carrying electronic items into the wooded area beside her apartment complex.  Officers located and detained the two described suspects, and the officers also came into contact with a resident who had returned home and found his apartment burglarized.  The items described by the victim as missing from his bedroom were found in the woods and collected for evidence.  Grant Proctor, 23, of Stafford and Antron Kelly, 21, of Woodbridge were arrested and both charged with burglary.  Proctor and Kelly were incarcerated at the Rappahannock Regional Jail under no bond.   

 200 block Goldenleaf Ct, 7/21 5:30 pm – 7:45 pm.  A resident reported that an unknown person pried a pane of glass out of her bedroom window in an apparent attempt to gain entry to the apartment.  The investigation is ongoing.

 INDECENT EXPOSURE:

 Walmart, 1800 Carl D Silver Pkwy, 7/21 12:20 pm.  A loss prevention employee reported that she observed a male subject in the lingerie section of the store exposing himself while a female shopped nearby.  The employee kept the offender in sight until an officer arrived and took him into custody.  Robert Sumter, 40, of no fixed address was arrested for indecent exposure and released on his own recognizance.    

LARCENY:

 1200 block Caroline St, 7/21 7:45 pm – 9:30 pm.  A Spotsylvania resident reported that an unknown person broke the passenger side window of her vehicle and stole her purse from inside.  No suspects or witnesses at this time.

 100 block Hickock Cir, 7/21 11:45 pm.  A resident reported that his bicycle was stolen from the front yard of a friend’s house.  No suspects or witnesses at this time.

 1300 block Hospital Dr, 7/18 – 7/19 7:30 am.  The owner of a landscaping company reported that a lawn mower was stolen from a flatbed truck and the steering column of the truck was damaged.  No suspects or witnesses at this time.

 Goodwill Industries, 2336 Plank Rd, 7/19 10:50 am – 11:45 am.  An employee reported that a company cell phone was stolen from the bathroom after the employee accidentally left it there.  No suspects or witnesses at this time.

 Walmart, 1800 Carl D Silver Pkwy, 7/19 7:10 pm.  A shopper reported that his wallet was stolen from his shopping cart.  No suspects or witnesses at this time.

 400 block Greenbrier Ct, 7/6 – 7/19 12:00 pm.  A resident reported that two handguns were stolen from his apartment.  No suspects or witnesses at this time.

 VANDALISM:

 1400 block Forest Village, 7/22 – 7/23 5:00 am.  A resident reported that three of the tires on her vehicle were flattened.  No suspects or witnesses at this time.

 DUI ARRESTS:

 Victoria Johnson, 21, of Stafford was arrested for DUI in the 100 block of William Street.

 ARRESTS:

 William Seitz, 40, of Spotsylvania was arrested for drinking in public and possession of alcohol on the riverbank.

 Ernest Ryder, 45, of Woodford was arrested on warrants from Spotsylvania charging him with felony larceny and obtaining money by false pretenses.  

 Juan Soto, 35, of Spotsylvania was arrested for public intoxication.

 Raymond Byrd, 54, of New Orleans, Louisiana was arrested for public intoxication.

 Dianne Mason, 61, of Bridge City, Louisiana was arrested for public intoxication.

 Gregorio Corona-Hernandez, 38, of Fredericksburg was arrested for public intoxication.

 Jose de los Santos, 26, of Fredericksburg was arrested for trespassing.

 Ronald Archila Villejos, 21, of Spotsylvania was arrested for trespassing.

 Penny Carmichael, 38, of Stafford was arrested for shoplifting from Famous Footwear.

 Juvenile male, 16, was arrested for shoplifting from Walmart.

 Shawn Whisnant, 37, of Spotsylvania was arrested for public intoxication and disorderly conduct.

 Maurice Evans, 31, of Norfolk was arrested for uttering a forged prescription, obtaining drugs with a forged prescription, and conspiracy to obtain drugs by fraud.

 Netisha George, 25, of Portsmouth was arrested for possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, uttering a forged prescription, obtaining drugs with a forged prescription, and conspiracy to obtain drugs by fraud.

 Augustus Holmes, 52, of King George was arrested for public intoxication.
