Daily Crime Report 7/12/2012
Recent police reports and arrests in Fredericksburg:
FRAUD:
Lowes, 1361 Carl D Silver Pkwy, 7/2 (reported 7/11) A customer reported that she was approached in the parking lot by a male subject who asked her about the location of churches in the area. The subject then asked the victim if he could hold any cash she might have so that he could pray over it with her and bring good fortune. The victim handed the suspect a quantity of cash. After the suspect gave the envelope of money back to the victim and left the scene, the victim discovered that the currency in the envelope had been replaced by pieces of paper. The suspect was described as a dark-skinned black male with a heavy accent, approximately 6’ and 200 pounds, and wearing a “parade cap”. The investigation is ongoing.
LARCENY:
400 block Princess Elizabeth St, 7/10 – 7/11 4:20 pm. A resident reported that the battery was stolen from his motorized scooter. No suspects or witnesses at this time.
Baker’s Shoe Repair, 2374 Plank Rd, 7/11 3:00 pm – 4:15 pm. The owner reported that two containers, each holding a large quantity of loose change, were stolen from the front counter. No suspects or witnesses at this time.
VANDALISM:
St. George’s Episcopal Church, 905 Princess Anne St, 7/6 (reported 7/11) An employee reported that graffiti was found painted on an exterior wall. No suspects or witnesses at this time.
ARRESTS:
Ivan Logan, 43, of Fredericksburg was arrested for felonious assault.
Derrick Singletary, 29, of no fixed address was arrested for trespassing.
