Daily Crime Report 6/11/2012

Recent police reports and arrests in Fredericksburg:

AGGRAVATED ASSAULT:

Grapevine Café, 622 Kenmore Ave, 6/9 1:25 am.  Officers responded to Grapevine Café for reports of a fight and possible gunfire.  When police arrived on the scene, a large group of subjects was in the street actively engaged in a physical altercation, but most of the participants dispersed as officers pulled up.  Two officers stopped a vehicle that was leaving with four male occupants, and it was discovered that one of the passengers had suffered three stab wounds during the altercation.  Another passenger, brother to the stabbing victim, reported that he had been assaulted while inside the bar and when his brother came to his aid, a large fight erupted.  The stabbing victim could not provide any information about his assailant.

A bouncer reported that when the fight started, he ordered the bar closed and sent all of the patrons outside.  While this was occurring, the bouncer reported that he heard several gunshots from somewhere out on the street near the business.

The bouncer also directed police to a second assault victim inside the bar, who reported that when the fight broke out an unknown person hit him on the head with a beer bottle and then slashed him across the back with the broken bottle.  Both stabbing victims were treated by rescue squad personnel and transported to the hospital.   Several potential witnesses were interviewed but at this time there are no known suspects.  The investigation is ongoing.

LARCENY:

800 block Princess Anne St, 6/9 12:30 am.  Officers responded to assist with a male subject at the downtown Post Office who had a severe laceration to his arm.  After the subject was transported to the hospital, the investigating officer followed the trail of blood on the sidewalk back to its source and discovered a smashed window in the 800 block of Princess Anne Street.  A warrant was obtained charging Paul Garza, 42, of no fixed address with destruction of property.  Garza had not been arrested by the time of this report.  A Good Samaritan who was assisting Mr. Garza with his injury reported that her purse was stolen while she was rendering aid to the bleeding man.  An unknown person later attempted to use of one of the victim’s credit cards at a local ATM.  The investigation is ongoing.

Best Value Inn, 2802 Plank Rd, 6/7 – 6/8 4:45 am.  An officer patrolling in the area found a vehicle with a shattered passenger window.  The officer located the owner and she reported that the car stereo and tool box had been stolen from the truck.  The investigation is ongoing.

Best Western, 2205 Plank Rd, 6/7 – 6/8 6:15 am.  Two guests reported that the doors on their vehicles had been damaged and pried open, and the interior of the vehicles showed evidence of tampering.  A third guest reported that his vehicle had its door lock broken and computers and cameras were stolen from inside.  The investigation is ongoing.

Hilton Garden Inn, 1080 Hospitality Ln, 6/8 4:00 am.  Three guests reported that their vehicles had damage to the doors and two of the victims reported items of value were stolen from the cars.  The investigation is ongoing.

Lowes, 1361 Carl D Silver Pkwy, 6/9 7:00 pm.  A customer reported that her purse was stolen from her cart.  No suspects or witnesses at this time.

2200 block Caroline St, 6/10 8:00 am – 4:00 pm.  A Spotsylvania resident reported that the front license plate was stolen from his vehicle.  No suspects or witnesses at this time.

VANDALISM:

3300 block Fall Hill Ave, 6/8 10:50 am – 11:15 am.  A Stafford resident reported that the passenger side window of her vehicle was broken while the car was parked in the lot adjacent to the canal path.  The investigation is ongoing.

1100 block William St, 6/9 8:30 pm.  A passerby reported that a City-owned welcome sign was damaged.  No suspects or witnesses at this time.

DUI ARRESTS:

Danielle Clay, 22, of Locust Grove was arrested for DUI in the 1100 block of Jefferson Davis Highway.

Michael Rosensteel, 31, of Spotsylvania was arrested for DUI and refusal to submit to a blood or breath test in the 3300 block of Fall Hill Avenue.

John Gillespie, 21, of King George was arrested for DUI in the 700 block of Dixon Street.  

Amy Quinones, 30, of Dumfries was arrested for DUI and refusal to submit to blood or breath test in the 100 block of Crestview Way.

Valentine Diaz Saldivar, 43, of Spotsylvania was arrested for DUI and refusal to submit to a blood or breath test in the 1900 block of Princess Anne Street.

ARRESTS:

David Ruffner, 36, of no fixed address was arrested for public intoxication.

Francisco Perez, 23, of Fredericksburg was arrested for domestic assault and battery and public intoxication.

Kelly Shatto, 28, of Spotsylvania was arrested on a warrant from Spotsylvania charging her with assault and battery. 

Heather Corn, 25, of no fixed address was arrested for abandonment of a companion animal and abuse/neglect of an animal.

Steven Purnell, 28, of Spotsylvania was arrested for possession of a schedule III narcotic and on a warrant from Spotsylvania charging him with fraud.

Grace Bruce, 50, of no fixed address was arrested for public intoxication, possession of marijuana, resisting arrest, and assault.

Autumn Haren, 20, of Stafford was arrested for possession of a schedule I,II narcotic, possession of a schedule IV narcotic, public intoxication, and shoplifting from Walmart.

John Boniface, 20, of Texas was arrested for underage possession of alcohol.

Juvenile male, 17, was arrested for shoplifting from Kohls.

Juvenile male, 17, was arrested for shoplifting from Kohls.

Juvenile male, 17, was arrested for shoplifting from Kohls.

Juvenile male, 15, was arrested for shoplifting from Kohls.

Krystle Morton, 30, of Warrenton was arrested for shoplifting from Kohls.

Cherie Washington, 37, of Fredericksburg was arrested for shoplifting from Kohls.

September Terry, 32, of Matthews, North Carolina was arrested on a warrant from Lynchburg charging her with failure to return rental property. 

Lamont Haskins, 46, of Fredericksburg was arrested for domestic assault and battery.

Francisco Sandoval Avelar, 28, of Alexandria was arrested for possession of alcohol on City property.

Pedro Campos de Leon, 32, of Woodbridge was arrested for possession of alcohol on City property.

Miguel Gomez Perez, 22, of Woodbridge was arrested for possession of alcohol on City property.

Rodney Pearson, 42, of no fixed address was arrested for possession of alcohol on City property.

William Seitz, 40, of Spotsylvania was arrested for public intoxication and resisting arrest.

Stephanie Minter, 27, of no fixed address was arrested for public intoxication and shoplifting from the Lafayette Boulevard 7-11.

Lenetta Gilbert, 44, of Fredericksburg was arrested for public intoxication.
